Reader Trust & Sovereignty

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026. The FY Times is built around absolute digital sovereignty, privacy-respecting metrics, and highly secure communication channels.

1. 100% Self-Hosted Infrastructure

All systems, codebases, and databases operating The FY Times are deployed on 100% independent, self-hosted virtual private server (VPS) architecture. We do not use third-party cloud infrastructure (such as Google Cloud, Vercel, or Supabase), ensuring complete administrative isolation and shielding your activity from major tech conglomerations.

2. Cookieless, Privacy-Safe Local Analytics

The FY Times uses privacy-friendly analytics through Umami to understand page views, referral sources and general site usage. Unlike advertising trackers, our analytics:

  • Uses no analytics cookies inside your browser.
  • Measures page views, referrers and general browser or device type.
  • Does not create personally identifying reader profiles.
  • Keeps analytics on our self-hosted Umami service. We do not sell analytics data.

3. Secure Database Ingestion (No Email Routing)

For maximum security and deliverability, form submissions—including contact forms, press release details, and crypto checkout proofs—are written directly to our **secure, encrypted local SQL database**. We do NOT route these forms through unsecure, third-party email transit systems or SMTP relays, preventing interception by external crawlers or intermediate mail transfer agents.

4. Secured Communication & Follow-Ups

We acknowledge the importance of secure, end-to-end encrypted discussion for sensitive future tech reporting or business proposals. When we respond to your submissions, we respect your sovereignty by using your preferred communication channel:

  • Telegram (via secure, direct correspondence)
  • Signal (via verified, end-to-end encrypted messaging)
  • Secure Email (utilizing PGP or standard secure mailboxes)

5. Complete Data Erasure Rights

You maintain absolute ownership of your communications. At any point, you may request the complete, permanent erasure of your submissions or newsletter entries from our local database. Simply reach out via our secure contacts, and we will purge your records immediately without retention.
